This is me the Doctor Omega Mwondha Medi, the public figure and a younger influencer across the the continent of Africa and the entire world, known as African Thinker, A pan africanist, Son of soil Africa & A community healthcare servant From Uganda To The Frontlines of Africa's Future: Meet The Public Health Leader Quietly Building A Pan-African Movement How a son of Busoga rose from humble beginnings to become a public health professional, Pan-African advocate, and one of the continent's emerging voices for African unity. Kampala, Uganda — Born in the historic Bukooli Chiefdom, the oldest chiefdom in Uganda's Busoga Kingdom, Dr. Omega Mwondha Medi has dedicated his life to advancing public health, empowering young people, and championing the vision of a united Africa. A proud Musoga from Nkaiza Village, Nabukalu Sub-county, Kapyanga, he is the son of Muzamiru Nandhubu and Namusobya Hasifah, whose values of service and resilience helped shape his lifelong commitment to humanity. Today, Dr. Medi is a respected Professional Public Health Officer, trained Nutritionist, Pan-Africanist, African Thinker, and President of the Uganda PAYIM Movement, where he continues to advocate for African unity, self-determination, and cultural renaissance. His unwavering belief is that Africa's diversity should be celebrated as a source of strength rather than division. His Pan-African journey officially began in 2020 from the Busoga Kingdom, driven by a mission to unite Africans beyond tribal, ethnic, and national boundaries. While pursuing his Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at Victoria University, he founded the Uganda National Students Association (UNSA)—an organization established to unite students from every region and tribe in Uganda, promoting national cohesion through leadership, dialogue, and collaboration. Building on this vision, Dr. Medi founded the Motherland African Youths Foundation (MAYFO), where he serves as Founder and Chief Executive Officer. The organization is dedicated to promoting Pan-Africanism, reclaiming Africa's rich cultural heritage, and empowering young people and women across the continent and throughout the diaspora. His passion for service is reflected in an impressive public health career. During the COVID-19 pandemic (2021–2022), he volunteered with the Government of Uganda as a Health Educator under KCCA Nakawa Division and also served at Bugiri District Hospital, supporting community health education and disease prevention initiatives. From 2023 to 2024, Dr. Medi worked with the World Health Organization (WHO) as a Surveillance Pillar Officer, contributing to disease surveillance and emergency response efforts during outbreaks of Ebola, Mpox, and Chickenpox in Kampala. His commitment to medical advancement also extends into research. In 2019, he participated in research on retinoblastoma and cataract-related conditions affecting children under the age of 15, conducted through Mulago National Referral Hospital in collaboration with Naguru Regional Hospital and Chinese medical partners. Dr. Medi has also served at Kiswa Health Centre III under KCCA Nakawa Division, where he participated in child health programmes, including immunization campaigns against HPV, measles, rubella, polio, yellow fever, conjunctivitis, and other preventable diseases, helping strengthen community healthcare delivery. Recognizing the critical role of nutrition in preventive healthcare, he collaborated with international nutrition and wellness organizations, including Eternal Life, Switchy America Company (Nano Technology), and QYT Herbal and Food Supplements. Through this work, he initiated research into African traditional medicine and began documenting disease management approaches and indigenous medicinal formulations aimed at addressing Africa's unique health challenges. His humanitarian journey began in 2019 with Aged Family Uganda, where he cared for elderly persons, people living with disabilities, and vulnerable individuals requiring home-based and hospital care. Currently, Dr. Medi serves as Facilitator and Public Relations Officer at Joyce General Services, a private institution that trains professional caregivers in home-based care, child care, and elderly care, helping develop skilled healthcare professionals for communities in need. Beyond healthcare, Dr. Medi remains deeply committed to preserving African history and identity. He serves as an Administrator of Sisimua, a platform dedicated to publishing and promoting African history, and is an active supporter and listener of GalaxyAfiwe.net Radio, a UK-based anti-colonial media platform committed to amplifying African voices and historical consciousness. Through his leadership, research, advocacy, and humanitarian service, Dr. Omega Mwondha Medi continues to inspire a new generation of Africans to embrace unity, protect their heritage, and build a healthier and more prosperous continent.
