The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced a temporary disruption of its iTax platform as part of a planned system maintenance aimed at improving service delivery.
In a notice issued on Saturday, March 21, 2026, KRA informed taxpayers that the maintenance will take place on Sunday, March 22, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
During this four-hour window, the iTax system will be inaccessible, preventing users from filing returns, making payments, or accessing tax-related services.
The authority clarified that the scheduled downtime is part of routine efforts to enhance the platform’s performance, security, and overall reliability. As a key digital tool used by individuals and businesses across Kenya, iTax plays a central role in tax compliance and administration.
KRA has urged taxpayers to plan ahead by completing any urgent transactions before the maintenance period begins to avoid inconvenience. The agency also reassured users that the disruption will be strictly limited to the specified timeframe.
In case of any challenges, taxpayers have been advised to reach out to KRA through its official communication channels, including social media, phone contacts, and email support.
The maintenance reflects KRA’s continued investment in modernising its digital infrastructure, as it seeks to improve efficiency, strengthen revenue collection, and provide seamless services to the public.
