Harambee Stars Unveil Squad for CECAFA Four Nations Tournament in Tanzania

Kenya’s national football team, the Harambee Stars, has officially named its 25-man squad for the upcoming CECAFA Four Nations Tournament set to kick off in Arusha, Tanzania next week. The team, led by head coach Benni McCarthy, departed for Tanzania early Saturday morning, full of optimism and purpose.

The tournament will act as a crucial preparation platform for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which Kenya will co-host alongside Uganda and Tanzania.

“This tournament is a great opportunity to test our readiness for CHAN,” said McCarthy. “We’ll face strong teams, which will help us assess what’s working and where we need to improve.”

Key Highlights, including, Total Players Named: 25, Tournament Dates: July 21 – July 27, Opening Match: Kenya vs. Uganda (Mon, July 21 at 3 PM), Venue: Karatu Stadium, Arusha and Next Matches, which including, Kenya vs. Tanzania (Thu, July 24 at 4 PM) and Kenya vs. Senegal (Sun, July 27 at 1 PM).

Full Harambee Stars Squad, including Goalkeepers, Farouk Shikalo, Byrne Omondi and Sebastian Wekesa.

The list of defenders including, Siraj Mohammed, Manzur Suleiman, Pamba Swaleh, Abud Omar, Alphonce Omija, Sylvester Owino, Michael Kibwage, Daniel Sakari, Lewis Bandi and Kevin Okumu.

The list of midfielders, also include, Brian Musa, Alpha Onyango, Austin Odhiambo, Ben Stanley and Marvin Nabwire.

Also the list of Forwards are provided, including, Mohammed Bajaber, Boniface Muchiri,David Sakwa, Ryan Ogam,Masoud Juma, Austin Odongo and Felix Oluoch.

Purpose of the Tournament: It’s not just another competition. It’s a warm-up for the prestigious CHAN 2024, which Kenya will co-host — a rare chance to shine on home soil.
