Rikolto Seeks Finance Analyst to Oversee Regional Operations in Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda

Arusha, Tanzania –Rikolto in East Africa, an international non-governmental organization that supports sustainable and inclusive farming systems, is inviting qualified professionals to apply for the position of Finance Analyst.

The successful candidate will oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting for Rikolto’s operations in Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda.

The position will be based in Arusha, Tanzania, with occasional travel across the region. Applications close on October 23, 2025.

Rikolto (formerly known as VECO) is an international NGO with over 40 years of experience working with farmer organizations and agricultural value chain actors across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

The organization aims to build a sustainable and fair food system in which family farmers produce high-quality food for their communities and for both local and international markets.

Rikolto’s programs focus on strengthening farmer cooperatives, promoting climate-smart agriculture, and linking smallholder farmers to profitable markets through innovation and partnerships.
The Finance Analyst will play a key role in maintaining financial transparency, accountability, and efficiency across Rikolto’s operations in the three countries.
Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, the analyst will ensure that all financial transactions comply with both international accounting standards and donor requirements, while supporting the growth and capacity of national finance teams.
The successful candidate will:
• Prepare and consolidate budgets at regional, country, and project levels.
• Conduct financial forecasting, variance analysis, and prepare monthly performance reports.
• Ensure accuracy in the linkage between Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statements.
• Supervise and mentor Finance Officers in Tanzania and Uganda, ensuring adherence to internal controls.
• Review financial reports and transactions for compliance and accuracy.
• Strengthen internal financial systems and recommend process improvements.
• Support external and internal audits, ensuring timely implementation of audit recommendations.
• Lead the use of Excel-based automation tools and ERP systems like Exact Globe Next for improved efficiency.
The analyst will also ensure each country office complies with relevant accounting standards — IPAS in Tanzania, IFRS for SMEs in Uganda, and IFRS in Rwanda.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• A professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CIMA is mandatory.
• At least five years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, and planning — ideally in an international NGO or multi-country setting.
• Strong understanding of donor-funded projects (EU, USAID, IFAD, World Bank, etc.).
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills (Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA).
• Familiarity with ERP accounting systems such as Exact, Navision, or similar platforms.
• Proven experience in audit preparation and coordinating financial compliance across countries.
