The family of a 13-year-old girl from Rabuor Village, Mbita, Homa Bay County, is seeking justice after she was horrifically raped, murdered, and had acid poured on her face and private parts.
The victim, a Grade Seven pupil at Kamsama Comprehensive Primary School, was last seen walking home from school for lunch but never arrived.
Her father, Silas Otiko, says the tragedy has left the family deeply traumatized, and her younger siblings are now too scared to go to school.
Other family members have called on the police, specifically the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, to act quickly and find those responsible.
According to Mbita Sub-County Deputy County Commissioner Peter Mutiso, the girl was attacked shortly after parting ways with classmates on her way home.
Police investigations have confirmed the assault and the cruel act of pouring acid, with preliminary findings indicating she was sexually violated before her death. Her body was found dumped by the roadside the following day.
This shocking incident has raised concerns about safety and security in the community, with calls for urgent measures to protect children and bring criminals to justice.
