Uganda’s CDF Gen. Muhoozi Visits China to Strengthen Military Ties

Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, is currently in Beijing, China, for a high-level military visit aimed at strengthening defence cooperation between the two countries.

Upon arrival, Gen. Kainerugaba was warmly received by senior Chinese military officials, signaling the importance of the strategic engagement. The visit will focus on deepening collaboration in defence diplomacy, joint training, and the exchange of knowledge on modern defence technologies.

Officials from both countries are expected to discuss areas such as intelligence sharing, military logistics, and capacity building for Uganda’s armed forces.

The visit comes as part of Uganda’s ongoing efforts to modernize its military and enhance regional security partnerships.

Observers say the engagement could lead to joint exercises, technology transfer, and stronger bilateral ties, reinforcing Uganda’s role in regional peace and security initiatives.
