KENYA: Kitui Man Arrested for Killing and Secretly Burying Father after Two-Year Disappearance

Kitui County, Kenya – September 11, 2025 – Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have uncovered the shocking murder of a Kitui man whose disappearance had puzzled his family and neighbors for over two years.

The suspect, Musee Ngui, is accused of killing his father, Ngui Ngunza, and secretly burying him on their family land in Nguuni village, Mwingi West.

Police say Musee misled relatives after the killing by claiming that his father had traveled, prolonging the mystery and leaving the family in emotional turmoil.

The breakthrough came two weeks ago when Musee was arrested in Matuu, Machakos County, where he had been hiding. His arrest was triggered by fresh allegations that he had defiled and impregnated his two daughters, leading to his capture.

During police interrogation, Musee reportedly confessed to killing his father and personally led homicide detectives to a shallow grave behind the family home.

Under tight security and in the presence of shocked villagers, officers exhumed the remains of the late Ngunza.
Relatives and neighbors expressed mixed emotions — sadness at the grim discovery but relief that the painful mystery surrounding the elder’s disappearance had finally been solved.

“At least we now know what happened to our brother. We want justice for him,” one family member said.
Musee remains in police custody and is expected to face murder charges, alongside charges related to the alleged sexual abuse of his daughters.

Police say investigations are ongoing to ensure a watertight case before the suspect is arraigned in court.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm as the case proceeds, promising justice for the victim and closure for the grieving family.
