Schools Shine in Pop Music Talent Show at Kenya National Music Festival

The Kenya National Music Festival continues to celebrate young talent as schools across the country competed in the Pop Music Talent Show category, showcasing their creativity and musical skills.

One standout performance came from students of JFC Munene College of Health Science, who impressed the audience with a lively Scottish dance during the festival’s Day 6, held at Meru School on August 9, 2025.

The festival, a highly anticipated annual event, brings together students from various schools to compete in music, dance, and cultural arts. It offers a platform for young Kenyans to express their artistic talents and promotes cultural exchange.

Organizers noted the growing interest in contemporary music genres like pop, which is now attracting many young participants. This shift shows how the festival is evolving with the times while still honoring traditional and classical art forms.

Teachers and parents praised the event for boosting confidence among students and encouraging teamwork and creativity.
The Kenya National Music Festival is part of the wider National Festival of Arts, which aims to nurture artistic talents and celebrate Kenya’s rich cultural heritage.
