Ugandan Coffee Shines at 8th China International Import Expo in Shanghai

Uganda’s coffee industry is making a global mark as Inspire Africa showcases the country’s finest coffee at the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2025 in Shanghai.

The exhibition provides a major platform for positioning Ugandan coffee on the international stage, particularly as China continues to emerge as one of the fastest-growing markets for specialty coffee.

Inspire Africa represents Uganda with a focus on promoting the nation’s rich coffee heritage while engaging with international investors, distributors, and coffee enthusiasts.

The team is conducting market research, hosting coffee tasting sessions, and holding trade talks aimed at expanding Uganda’s coffee presence in Asia.

“Our presence at CIIE is a testament to Uganda’s potential to supply high-quality, traceable, and sustainably grown coffee to the world,” said Dr. Nelson Tugume, CEO of Inspire Africa.

He added, “China is a ready and growing market, and this engagement opens doors for greater value addition and improved livelihoods for our farmers back home.”

Uganda’s participation highlights the country’s commitment to diversifying coffee markets, boosting exports, and promoting Made-in-Uganda products worldwide.

With Inspire Africa leading the charge, Ugandan coffee aims to strengthen its reputation as one of the world’s most admired brews.

“By sharing our story and quality standards, we hope to attract international partnerships that benefit both farmers and the broader coffee sector in Uganda,” Dr. Tugume said.

The initiative comes as part of Uganda’s broader strategy to increase value addition in coffee production, enhance sustainability, and secure new international markets for its specialty coffee.
