UGANDA: Tragic Death of 15-Year-Old Girl Found in Boyfriend’s Room Sparks Outcry in Lyantonde District

On the night of September 1, 2025, 15-year-old Nankinga Meble, a student at Kyemamba Seed Secondary School in Lyantonde District, disappeared after leaving her parents’ home without telling them.

She went to Kyemamba Trading Center, where she met her boyfriend, identified as Isaac, and stayed overnight at his rented room.

The next morning, when Nankinga had not returned home by 7:30 a.m., her worried parents began searching for her in the area. Around 10:00 a.m., they learned she had been with Isaac. When they arrived at his residence, their worst fears came true — Nankinga’s lifeless body was found lying on the bed.

The family immediately informed the police, who arrived promptly to investigate. The body was taken to Lyantonde Hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, Isaac is reported to be missing, and authorities have launched a manhunt, appealing to the public to help with any information that could lead to his arrest.

This tragic incident has deeply shaken the Masaka West community, highlighting serious concerns about the safety of young students and the need for increased parental vigilance. Community leaders and law enforcement officials are urging residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to help prevent such heartbreaking events in the future.

The investigation is ongoing as the community waits for answers and justice for Nankinga Meble.
