Uganda to Host Africa’s First Destination Celebrations Expo in 2026

Uganda is preparing to host a major continental tourism event in 2026 as it seeks to grow its position in the global events and experiential tourism market.

The country will host the inaugural Africa Destination Celebrations Conference and Expo from March 23 to March 27, 2026. The event is expected to attract international event buyers, African event suppliers, investors, and tourism authorities from across the continent and beyond.

The expo aims to promote Africa as a top destination for luxury events, celebrations, and experiential travel, such as destination weddings, cultural festivals, corporate retreats, and high-end social events. It will also showcase Uganda’s ability to host large, high-value international events.

Organisers say the conference will provide a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and business partnerships between global buyers and African service providers in tourism, hospitality, events planning, and related industries.

For Uganda, hosting the expo is seen as a strategic move to boost tourism, attract investment, and increase international visibility. The country plans to highlight its natural beauty, rich culture, hospitality facilities, and improving infrastructure as key strengths.

Tourism officials believe the event will create new opportunities for local businesses, generate employment, and contribute to economic growth while strengthening Uganda’s reputation as a preferred destination for major international celebrations and events.

As preparations begin, stakeholders from government and the private sector are expected to work together to ensure the success of the landmark continental gathering in 2026.
