Uganda to Celebrate National Day at Expo Osaka with Business, Culture & Diplomacy

Uganda will mark its National Day on October 8, 2025, during Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, combining business, cultural showcases, and diplomatic events to highlight the country’s transformation and global partnerships.

The Expo, which runs from April to October under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” features Uganda’s Pavilion in Commons A. The display emphasizes industrialization, exports, investment opportunities, tourism, and the country’s cultural diversity.

The Ugandan delegation will be led by Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja and will include senior government officials, diplomats, and private sector representatives.

On October 7, they will meet with the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss enhancing trade and investment ties between Uganda and Japan.

On National Day itself, the program will begin with formal speeches, followed by cultural performances representing Uganda’s traditions. Delegates will tour the Uganda and Japan pavilions, and the day ends with a networking dinner to foster business-to-business connections.

Following Expo events, Prime Minister Nabbanja is scheduled for a bilateral meeting in Tokyo with the Japanese Prime Minister on October 9, aiming to cement cooperation in trade, investment, and development.

Uganda’s participation is guided by the sub-theme “Empowering Lives”, reflecting its commitment to inclusive growth, global partnerships, and progress under its Vision 2040 agenda.
