Thierry Henry Warns Arsenal: “Manchester City Are the Real Threat in the Title Race”

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has cautioned his former club that Manchester City remain the biggest danger to their Premier League title hopes this season.

Before the November international break, City narrowed the gap at the top of the table after Arsenal dropped points in a 2–2 draw against Sunderland. Manchester City took full advantage by beating Liverpool 3–0 at the Etihad Stadium, reducing Arsenal’s lead to just four points after 11 matches.

Henry, speaking to BetWay, said Manchester City’s experience and ability to recover quickly make them the team Arsenal should be most concerned about.

“If you’re an Arsenal fan, that’s exactly the team you don’t want behind you, because they know how to win,” Henry said. “It’s not great as an Arsenal man to see them returning to form. They look like a team ready to go on a long winning run.”

Henry explained that Manchester City needed time to adjust after Pep Guardiola brought in two new assistant coaches and slightly changed the team’s playing style. He believes Arsenal were fortunate to build an early lead while City were still adapting.

“What Arsenal needed was to take as many points as possible during City’s adjustment period, and they managed to do that. But everyone knew the title race would always be a battle,” he added.

Despite Arsenal’s strong start, Henry’s warning highlights that the reigning champions remain a serious contender. With most of the season still ahead, the title race is expected to intensify as both teams push for consistency.
