Tanzania Leads the Way in Data Protection: A Model for East Africa

In recent years, Tanzania has made significant progress in how it handles and protects digital information. This progress in data governance is now being seen as a model for other East African countries that are still trying to catch up in the digital world.

As more services go online—from mobile money and health records to e-commerce and social media—the way governments protect people’s personal data has become more important than ever.
