TANZANIA: Heavy Rains Damage Serengeti Roads, Disrupt Tourism

Heavy rains in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park have badly damaged key roads, causing serious problems for tourists and tour operators.

The worst affected area is the Golini–Seronera stretch, where the muddy and flooded roads have caused vehicles to get stuck often. This has led to some tourists missing their scheduled flights, creating frustration and delays.

Tour operators have raised concerns about the worsening conditions, saying the damaged roads are making it difficult to maintain smooth tourism activities during the peak season.

The Serengeti is one of Africa’s top safari destinations, famous for its wildlife and annual migration. The rain damage could hurt the park’s tourism business if the roads are not repaired quickly.

Officials are expected to work on fixing the roads to ensure visitors can safely enjoy their trips and support the local economy.
