Tanzania Aims to Make History with Fourth Straight Win at CHAN 2024

Tanzania’s national team, the Taifa Stars, is determined to make history at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 by winning their fourth consecutive group-stage match against the Central African Republic (CAR).

The team has already secured a place in the quarter-finals after winning their first three matches, a feat they have never achieved before in the tournament. Their final group game will be played this Saturday at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Goalkeeper Aishi Manula expressed his excitement and confidence ahead of the match.

“Our team has qualified for the next stage. I believe we will make history because it is the first time we have won three consecutive matches. We want to win again and write a new chapter for Tanzania in this competition,” Manula told CAFOnline.com.

He added that Tanzanian football is improving rapidly both at club and national team levels.

“Africa now knows who Tanzania is. Our clubs have reached a high level, and now the continent expects our national team to perform well in this tournament,” he said.

Coach Hemed Suleiman shared the same ambition, saying that the team will not relax despite already qualifying.

“We are the first team to qualify for the quarter-finals, and this gives us confidence. But we want more. We want to finish the group stage with a perfect record. Every player is focused on winning this last match,” said Suleiman.

This will be the first time in CHAN history that Tanzania wins all its group-stage matches if they beat CAR.

The performance reflects the country’s growing investment in football and the progress of its domestic league.

After the match against CAR, Tanzania will head into the knockout stage with hopes of going further than ever before in the CHAN tournament.
