Mwanza, Tanzania – Tanzania’s ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), concluded its two-month election campaign on Monday as presidential candidate Samia Suluhu Hassan outlined her vision for the next five years.
Arriving at Mwanza Airport, Samia was welcomed by large crowds, including party supporters, local leaders, and residents who gathered to hear her speech.
In her address, Samia emphasized continuity, economic development, and social progress, highlighting achievements of her current administration and presenting plans to expand infrastructure, healthcare, education, and women’s empowerment programs.
“Tanzania has made significant progress, but we have more to do. My vision is to continue improving livelihoods, strengthening governance, and ensuring opportunities reach every citizen,” she said.
Samia also called for peaceful and fair elections, urging Tanzanians to participate responsibly in the voting process.
Party officials said the Mwanza rally marked the formal conclusion of CCM’s nationwide campaign, which included rallies, town hall meetings, and voter engagement programs across all regions.
Analysts note that CCM’s strategy focused on stability and development, aiming to appeal to both urban and rural voters, while opposition parties continue to push for change based on issues such as youth unemployment, cost of living, and governance reforms.
The Tanzania National Electoral Commission (NEC) has confirmed that preparations for election day are complete, with polling stations ready and security measures in place.
