President Samia Suluhu Hassan on Wednesday received a special message from the United Nations regarding national stability and dialogue during a meeting with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy, Parfait Onanga-Anyanga.
The meeting took place at the Chamwino State House, where the envoy delivered a message from UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
Focus on Stability and Dialogue
According to officials, the discussions centred on the importance of maintaining national stability, strengthening dialogue, and promoting peaceful cooperation within the country and across the region.
The United Nations reaffirmed its continued support for Tanzania’s efforts to uphold peace, stability and inclusive governance.
President Samia expressed appreciation for the message from the UN leadership and reiterated Tanzania’s commitment to maintaining national unity, constructive engagement, and political dialogue.
Strengthening Cooperation with the UN
The meeting also highlighted the longstanding partnership between Tanzania and the United Nations in advancing peace, development and diplomatic cooperation.
Officials said the exchange reflects ongoing collaboration between Tanzania and international partners to promote stability, democratic dialogue and sustainable development both nationally and within the wider East African region.
