President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has praised Prophet David Isanga for teaching believers the importance of wealth creation, hard work, and job creation alongside spiritual growth.
The President made the remarks in a message delivered on his behalf by the Special Presidential Assistant for Press and Mobilisation, who is also the Deputy Press Secretary, Haji Faruk Kirunda. The message was delivered on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, during the End of Year Glorification and Thanksgiving Convention of the Universal Apostles Fellowship Church of Righteousness, held in Kilama, Kaliro District.
President Museveni thanked Prophet Isanga for encouraging Christians to work hard and support government programmes aimed at fighting poverty.
He explained that human beings have both spiritual and physical needs, which must be addressed equally. While spiritual needs are met through prayer, worship, fasting, and studying scripture, physical needs such as food, shelter, healthcare, education, transport, and employment require money.
The President noted that poverty and moneylessness can only be overcome through productive work and profitable enterprises. He highlighted four key sectors where wealth and jobs can be created: commercial agriculture, industry, services, and information and communication technology (ICT).
Museveni urged religious leaders to guide believers toward improving their living standards, warning that focusing only on heaven while neglecting earthly responsibilities can lead to poverty and backwardness.
He encouraged Christians to follow the example of Jesus Christ, who not only prayed and healed the sick but also worked as a carpenter to support his family and community.
The President also thanked God for the peace, unity, and stability in Uganda, noting that the country continues to experience growth in agriculture and industry. Although about 30 percent of households are still outside the money economy, he said the government has clear programmes to support them, including the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, ghetto funds, and the boda boda fund.
He concluded by expressing optimism about Uganda’s future and called for prayers for peace across Africa and deeper economic and political integration on the continent.
In his remarks, Prophet David Isanga thanked President Museveni for leading Uganda’s socio-economic transformation through programmes such as PDM and Emyooga. He also praised the President for protecting freedom of worship, which he said has allowed churches like his to thrive.
Prophet Isanga encouraged believers to support President Museveni and other NRM candidates in the 2026 general elections to ensure continued development.
The event was attended by several leaders, including the Minister of State for Bunyoro Affairs, Hon. Jenipher Namuyangu, Bulamogi County MP Hon. Bwiire Sanon, Kaliro Woman MP Hon. Brenda Namukuta, and other local leaders.
