“Levixone and Desire Luzinda Engagement Sparks Debate: Is Age Still a Barrier to Love?”

The internet is buzzing after popular gospel singer Levixone, real name Sam Lucas Lubyogo (born 1992), officially announced his engagement to fellow singer Desire Luzinda, real name Rachael Luzinda (born 1984), setting off a heated discussion around one of the most talked-about topics in modern relationships: age difference.

Despite being eight years younger than Luzinda, Levixone expressed deep joy and gratitude for finally finding the woman he calls “his answered prayer.”

“For so many years, I kept this close to my heart. I prayed for purpose, and God gave me the love of my life. He was writing a story I couldn’t see full of grace, joy, and quiet miracles.

My best friend said ‘YES.’ My answered prayer, my forever, the Woman of God,” Levixone wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page.

While some social media users applauded the couple for following their hearts, others criticized the age gap revealing that age difference remains a sensitive topic in society, especially when the woman is older than the man.

But many relationship experts and individuals have come forward to challenge this mindset, arguing that emotional connection, shared values, and mutual respect are more important than age.

Rachael Nahamya, a Ugandan living in Minnesota, USA, says age should not matter in a relationship.

“Most people forget that if I love someone, his age does not matter. It’s just digits. All I need is the emotional connection and to feel safe with him nothing more,” she told our reporter.

Similarly, Harriet Nalumansi, a professional counselor at Hem Counseling Services in Kansanga, Kampala, emphasized that maturity has nothing to do with age.

“People mature at different rates. You can meet a 50-year-old who thinks like a 26-year-old. A woman needs a partner who is ready to commit not just someone older by years,” Nalumansi explained.

Traditionally, society has promoted the idea that a man should always be older than the woman in a relationship. But many argue that this belief is outdated and unfair. In fact, many marriages have failed even when the man is older, proving that age alone does not guarantee success.

“Every relationship is unique. What matters is how well two people understand and support each other, not how many years apart they are,” Nalumansi added.

The engagement between Levixone and Desire Luzinda is not just a celebrity love story it has become a symbol of challenging age-based judgment in love.

Their decision is encouraging others to question societal norms and to embrace love based on trust, faith, and connection, rather than numbers.

As long as both partners are consenting adults, capable of making their own decisions and respecting each other, age should no longer be seen as a wall between two people who love one another.

Levixone and Desire’s story has reminded society that “age is just a number” when it comes to matters of the heart.

As the world grows more open-minded, perhaps it’s time we let go of outdated rules and allow love to thrive in whatever form it takes without borders, and without age limits.
