Kololo Independence Grounds will come alive on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, as President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni officially launches his 2026 re-election campaign under the slogan “Protecting the Gains.”
The celebrations will follow his presidential nomination at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) new headquarters in Lweza-Lubowa, an event expected to draw thousands of supporters from across the country.
To mark the historic day, organizers have planned a star-studded festival of music, dance, and comedy, turning Kololo into the epicenter of Uganda’s political and cultural energy.
Uganda’s top entertainers will headline the celebrations, including Bebe Cool, Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleone Eddy Kenzo, Ronald Mayinja, Catherine Kusasira, Full Figure, Phina Mugerwa, Lil Pazo Lunabe, Stecia Mayanja, Alien Skin, Gravity Omutujju, Daddy Andre, Weasel Manizo, Ykee Benda, Coco Finger, Fred Sebbale, Jingo Show, Mc Vex, Mc Kalera, MC Cash Owakabi, Zig Zag, and Man Pato.
The event will reflect one of NRM’s key campaign messages inclusivity by showcasing talent from every region of the country.
Northern Uganda will be represented by Bosmic Otim, Odongo Romeo, Prisca Janet, Mc Rock, Okenge Born Town, Deno Traditional Group, Blood Moon (Lango), and JM Kennedy (West Nile).
Western Uganda will feature performances from Ray G, Truth 256, T Paul, Sister Charity, MC Kacheche, and Baingana, bringing a mix of traditional rhythms and modern hits.
Eastern Uganda will light up Kololo with Davido Spider, Rexy, Temperature Tach, Evy Treys, Victor Ruz, MC Rogers, and Idi Amasaba Cultural Group.
Comedy lovers will not be left out. Some of Uganda’s biggest comedians Madrat and Chiko, Dr. Hilary, Teacher Mpamire, Salvado, and Pastor Twine Herbert will keep the crowd entertained with laughter.
Security has been tightened to ensure a peaceful and smooth event, with police and military on standby to manage the large crowds expected to attend. Traffic diversions around Kololo have also been announced, and supporters are advised to arrive early to secure a spot.
The NRM Secretariat has called on all Ugandans, especially party supporters, to turn up in large numbers and celebrate what they describe as “a new chapter in Uganda’s steady progress.”
With such a diverse and inclusive lineup, Kololo is expected to turn into a national carnival a fusion of music, comedy, and culture as President Museveni officially kicks off his bid for another term in office.
