Kenya Secures Strategic Gains at PAPU Conference in Kampala

Kenya has strengthened its position in Africa’s postal and digital transformation landscape after securing key wins at the 11th session of the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) Conference held in Kampala.

Among the major achievements, Kenya earned a seat on the PAPU Plenipotentiary Conference Administrative Council for the 2026–2030 term. In addition, the country was selected to host the Eastern Africa Regional Digital Hub—an important milestone that reinforces its growing influence in regional digital innovation and postal sector modernization.

Speaking during the conference, Stephen Isaboke, Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to fostering collaboration and driving innovation across Africa’s postal ecosystem. He emphasized the importance of partnerships in accelerating digital transformation and improving service delivery across the continent.

The conference marked a significant moment for regional cooperation, bringing together member states to chart the future of postal services in an increasingly digital world.

Kenya also extended its congratulations to Zimbabwe and Uganda following the re-election of Sifundo Moyo as Secretary-General and Hope Jessica Ssengooba as Assistant Secretary-General, respectively.

These developments highlight Kenya’s expanding role in shaping Africa’s digital and communications infrastructure, positioning the country as a key driver of innovation and integration within the continent.
