Iran has launched a new wave of missiles targeting Israel, according to state media, in a further escalation of hostilities between the two nations.
State broadcaster Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) reported Tuesday morning that multiple missiles were fired toward what it described as “occupied territories.” Follow-up statements claimed that some of the projectiles managed to penetrate Israeli missile defense systems.
Explosions were reported in several areas, including Jerusalem, where residents heard loud blasts. In northern Israel, a building was struck during the earlier wave of attacks, though emergency responders confirmed no fatalities.
Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom, released footage showing structural damage at the impact site and said teams were deployed to assess and respond to the situation.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) later confirmed detecting incoming missiles and stated that interception systems had been activated to neutralize the threat.
The latest exchange underscores rising regional tensions, with both sides appearing to intensify military activity while authorities continue to monitor the situation and respond to incoming threats.
