Kenya’s food cravings in 2025 have revealed interesting and sometimes surprising trends, according to a new report released by Uber Eats. The report highlights what Kenyans searched for, ordered most, and spent money on throughout the year.
Fried chicken emerged as the most searched and ordered food across the country, showing the nation’s strong love for fast food. Pizza followed closely behind. In grocery deliveries, everyday items such as cooking oil, tomatoes, and spaghetti were the most requested, showing that many households relied on delivery services for basic needs.
One of the most impressive records in the report was the fastest delivery, which took just 150 seconds. The order was for a five-litre bottle of cooking oil, showing how efficient delivery services have become.
The report also revealed high-spending orders. One customer placed a premium drinks order worth Sh109,000, while fast-food lovers spent Sh102,134 on a single order of 20 burgers and side dishes. Romantic meals were also popular, with special “Lover’s Marathon” orders reaching up to Sh80,400.
Beyond food, the report captured fun and human moments. One customer typed “NO CHEESE!!!” 24 times to make sure their order was clear. Many users added thank-you messages and love notes to their orders, with Nairobi, Kisumu, and Mombasa leading as the most polite cities.
Overall, the Uber Eats report shows how food delivery has become part of daily life in Kenya, reflecting changing eating habits, convenience needs, and the personality of Kenyan customers in 2025.
