The Democratic Republic of the Congo has officially declared an Ebola outbreak in Kasai Province.
The cases have been found primarily in the Bulape and Mweka health zones. So far, there are 28 suspected cases, and sadly, 15 people have died. Among the victims are four health workers who were helping the community.
On September 3, the National Institute of Biomedical Research in Kinshasa tested samples from patients and confirmed the outbreak is caused by the Ebola Zaire strain.
Health authorities are urgently working to contain the disease and prevent it from spreading further.
The government and health organizations are increasing efforts to provide treatment, raise awareness, and protect both the public and healthcare workers.
The situation remains serious, and swift action is needed to control the outbreak.
