Tanzania’s ambitious Vision 2050, which aims to transform the country into a knowledge and innovation-driven economy, has received strong support from international development partners.
At the official launch of Vision 2050 in Dodoma, United Nations Resident Coordinator, Susan Ngongi Namondo, praised the Tanzanian government for its inclusive and consultative approach in shaping the country’s development roadmap.
She noted that the process of creating the Vision demonstrated strong leadership and the government’s commitment to ensuring that all sectors of society had a voice in the planning process.
Vision 2050 focuses on industrial transformation, green energy, urbanization, and digitalization, aiming to position Tanzania as a global player in the coming decades. It aligns with both the United Nations’ Agenda 2030 and the African Union’s Agenda 2063, which seek to achieve sustainable development across the continent.
Development partners have committed to supporting Tanzania in this journey, recognizing the government’s determination to drive growth and development for its citizens.
