President William Ruto’s tour of Dagoretti South and North on Tuesday was marked by teargas, chaos, and brief disruptions as some youth blocked his convoy. Despite the tension, the President pressed on, inspecting development projects and addressing a roadside rally.
During the tour, Ruto visited Mutuini Hospital, commissioned a new workshop block at PC Kinyanjui Technical Training Institute, toured ongoing works at Riruta Modern Market, and inaugurated a tuition block at Kawangware Primary School. He also announced plans to build a new international airport, calling it the start of Kenya’s “Singapore dream.”
At the rally, Ruto defended the pre-election pact between his party, UDA, and ODM, dismissing opposition from the Linda Mwananchi faction and criticizing the United Opposition for exploiting ethnic divisions. Local MPs, including Beatrice Elachi, John Kiarie, TJ Kajwang, and Felix Odiwuor, expressed support for continued collaboration to promote unity and development.
Ruto and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja highlighted cooperation between national and county governments, citing Ksh.80 billion allocated to improve essential services like water and waste management for Nairobi residents.
Despite security challenges, the President remained firm on his political agenda and development vision, signaling his determination to maintain momentum on both governance and upcoming electoral partnerships.
