Ireland’s Calling’: IRFU and Canterbury Unveil 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup Kit

Dublin, July 23, 2025, With just weeks to go before Ireland’s opening game at the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup, the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) and long-term kit partner Canterbury of New Zealand have officially launched the new Ireland Women’s national team jersey under the inspiring campaign, “Ireland’s Calling.”

The jersey was unveiled today at Lansdowne FC in Dublin, with Ireland internationals Edel McMahon, Fiona Tuite, and Enya Breen in attendance. The kit is set to make its on-field debut on Sunday, August 24, when Ireland plays Japan in their first World Cup match.

The home jersey stays true to Irish rugby tradition with a classic cadmium green tone and a grandad-style collar, blending heritage with high-performance features. The alternate (away) kit features a clean white base with subtle rose accents on the collar and sleeves. Both kits are powered by Canterbury’s VapoDri technology, designed to enhance athletic performance while offering comfort and breathability.

The jerseys will be **available for purchase starting Friday, July 25, exclusively through Intersport Elverys and Canterbury.com, priced from £66 / €80.

As part of the campaign, Canterbury is launching a 12-metre-tall replica jersey during the event at Lansdowne FC, which will tour Ireland from July 24 to August 10. It will visit rugby clubs and Intersport Elverys stores across the country.

Fans will be able to sign the giant jersey with messages of support that will be presented to the squad before they depart for England, where the 2025 World Cup is being held.

For fans unable to attend in person, Intersport Elverys will host an online portal, allowing supporters to send virtual messages and enter contests to win team merchandise.

Simon Rowe, Senior Vice President at Canterbury of New Zealand, expressed excitement about the launch:

“This summer is hugely important for Irish women’s rugby. Through ‘Ireland’s Calling,’ we want fans to rally behind a team that has already proven its strength with incredible performances last year. We’re proud to be part of their journey.”

Jessica Long, Head of Commercial at the IRFU, echoed that sentiment:

“This is more than just a jersey — it’s a symbol of progress. Our campaign is a **call to the nation** to support these trailblazing women as they inspire the next generation, on and off the field.”

The jersey launch follows a strong year for Ireland’s women’s team, who made headlines with a historic win over defending world champions New Zealand at last year’s WXV tournament, as well as consistent progress in the Guinness Six Nations.

With World Cup momentum building, the jersey and campaign aim to capture the spirit and determination of the team — and ignite support across every province.
