Uganda Ready for Voting on January 15, 2026

Uganda is fully prepared to hold its general elections on January 15, 2026, according to the Electoral Commission and government officials. Across the country, final preparations are underway to ensure that citizens can vote peacefully and safely.

The Electoral Commission has confirmed that polling materials have been distributed to districts and that polling stations are ready to open on election day. Electoral officials and polling assistants have completed training to manage the voting process, counting of ballots, and declaration of results.

Security agencies have also assured the public that adequate measures are in place to maintain law and order. Police and other security personnel will be deployed across the country to protect voters, election officials, and materials, while respecting the rights of citizens to vote freely.

Political parties and independent candidates have concluded their campaigns and are now urging supporters to turn up in large numbers. Voters are encouraged to carry their voter cards and follow voting guidelines at polling stations.

Civil society organisations and election observers, both local and international, are expected to monitor the elections. Their role will be to observe the process and promote transparency and credibility.

The government has called on all Ugandans to remain calm, avoid violence, and resolve any disputes through legal channels. Religious leaders and community elders have also appealed for peace before, during, and after the vote.

As the country heads to the polls, many Ugandans see the January 15 elections as an important opportunity to choose their leaders and shape the nation’s future through democratic participation.
