A landmark partnership between Nigerian-American entrepreneur Dr. Odera Ozoka and Ugandan media mogul Kin Kariisa is set to open a new chapter in Africa’s investment landscape, with Uganda positioned as a key destination for international investors.
The high-level meeting, held over the weekend at Next Media’s headquarters in Kampala, ended with firm commitments to promote cross-border investments, foster regional cooperation, and enhance visibility for Uganda’s growing industries.
During the meeting, Dr. Ozoka—a seasoned business executive known for championing sustainable investment projects across Africa—outlined plans to facilitate global investor access to Uganda’s emerging economic sectors.
Next Media Group CEO Kin Kariisa, a leading figure in Uganda’s corporate and media space, pledged to use his extensive local network and 22-brand media portfolio, including the flagship NBS TV, to support the initiative.
“Uganda’s story is one of resilience, innovation, and opportunity,” Kariisa said. “Through strategic partnerships like this, we want to showcase our potential to the world and connect credible investors with viable business ventures.”
He added that the collaboration will leverage Next Media’s digital and broadcast platforms to highlight success stories, promote transparency, and build investor confidence in Uganda’s economy.
Although the meeting did not disclose specific sectors of immediate focus, both parties identified agriculture, manufacturing, technology, renewable energy, tourism, and infrastructure development as high-potential areas for foreign direct investment.
Uganda’s government has been actively pursuing reforms aimed at simplifying investment procedures, reducing bureaucratic delays, and improving investor protection—a move that aligns with Ozoka’s long-term vision of empowering African economies through strategic partnerships and innovation.
The partnership between Ozoka and Kariisa marks a growing trend in Africa where local business leaders collaborate with international investors to create mutually beneficial outcomes.
“Africa’s economic transformation depends on collaboration,” said Dr. Ozoka. “We are building bridges between local expertise and global capital to unlock opportunities that benefit communities, not just corporations.”
Sources close to the discussions confirmed that both men have outlined concrete action plans, including a joint task force to coordinate investor relations, organize business forums, and identify scalable investment projects across Uganda and neighboring markets.
Analysts have described the Ozoka–Kariisa partnership as a model for investment-driven collaboration in Africa, emphasizing the importance of trusted local leadership and media visibility in driving sustainable development.
Kariisa’s success in turning Next Media into East Africa’s leading multi-brand network gives him unique insight into Uganda’s business environment, while Dr. Ozoka’s experience working with international investors offers valuable strategic perspective.
The two visionaries believe that by combining these strengths, Uganda could become a regional hub for trade, technology, and entrepreneurship within the next decade.
According to inside sources, both partners plan to host an Africa Investment and Media Summit in early 2026 to bring together policy makers, investors, and innovators from across the continent. The summit will aim to create new partnerships and showcase Uganda’s readiness for global business.
“We’re not just talking investment—we’re building a movement of collaboration,” Dr. Ozoka concluded. “Africa’s future depends on Africans leading the narrative and inviting the world to partner with us.”
