On Thursday September 4, 2025 night, a fierce fire broke out at Katani Villas, a gated residential estate in Syokimau.
The fire started at around 7:30 p.m. and quickly spread through several houses, causing residents to rush out for safety. Firefighters from both Machakos and Nairobi counties responded promptly to the emergency and battled the flames late into the night.
By the time the fire was finally contained, several homes had been completely destroyed, with property worth millions of shillings reduced to ashes. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, but so far, the exact cause remains unknown. Residents and officials continue to assess the damages and the impact on the community.
